Business owners are usually excited to launch their first website akin to having your first girlfriend/boyfriend – you are all in until disappointed.
So what disappoints the first time website owners? Definitely a lot of clueless expectations. Here are the three common mistakes website owners make;
1. Assuming a website is a once off thing – you develop it and just let it attract traffic on its own. Websites have to be updated regularly with quality content for search engines and users to keep visiting/revisiting your website.
2. Having a beautiful website is enough – Having a beautiful website that cannot be indexed by search engines and rank you well on search results is as useless as the beautiful house without an entrance. Make sure the site is optimised for search engines.
3. Expecting results as soon as the website is live – unless you are the owner of the search engines then that’s fine, otherwise it takes time for you to start seeing results. Most owners usually give up when the breakthrough is almost there. Keep creating quality content on your website and you will definitely reap the fruits.
